Apexi vafc

I have an vafc but I dont want to fully hook it up all the way till I get my new motor. I was wondering if I.could hook it up to the ignition, power, and rpm only? Would it hurt anything?

As long as you do not make any changes to anything, I am sure it should be fine to install 100%.
