Default Bad Day

Well for this being my first post it's going to be a winner. Yesterday while driving in Fallon NV i rolled my 99 civic trying to miss hitting a dog or coyote. My question is is my car going to be a write off? the damage is cracked front windshield, shattered rear window hood is trashed, roof caved in about 4-5 inches(sunroof never broke lucky for me), front fender is banged up, rear quarter panel is toast, drivers mirroris gone, head light broken, and a bunch of scratches on the top and drivers side. Im sure some interior damage is done. The only thing that really worries me is that the airbags never went off. Is this normal for a honda? The good news is i walked away with no scatches or any injuries. Nevada HP said I was lucky for wearing my seat belt or i would have been thrown out of a window. So any idea if the honda is a total?

^ +1

Caved in roof = write off. The airbags aren't going to deploy unless you hit something head on.

Sorry, but start looking for a new car. The cost to fix that would be enormous, definetely a write-off.

dito a roll over is salvage...... there could be good parts from it still but if the motor wont start up and run fine or the tranny move back and forwards id let them keep it...
IMO i would buy back a totaled car. for parts.... most the interior, motor, tranny, stuff like that.... but thats only good if you can find a theft recovery civic that you can swap all your good parts into. most theft recoveries are missing drivetrain and interior parts. tho youll still get a salvaged title, but just document the car when you got it and take pictures when ya get the car fixed so you can prove it hasnt been wrecked just a theft recovery.

but like always depends how mechanical you are...
most people say TAKE IT give me my money, and just go buy another car.
