Default The best exhaust thread

This has seemed to be the hardest part to really research and look into even with using youtube as visual and sound references

But my question is, is there ANY exhaust system out there for a civic (i have a 98 civic) which will NOT make it sound like a bee on steroids and actually give it a nice deep sound which wont wake the neighborhood up as soon as you hit on the gas??

Look there before asking what is best. In general, anything that looks like a coffee can (apexi N1, megan drift spec, etc etc) will sound loud and ricey IMO. Anything with an oval canister will sound good. What you think is a "good" exhaust sound will vary from what I think is a good sound. Remember, it is your car, build it how you like it.

BTW, the best is the Apexi WS2.

I always go with glasspack. Same in as out. 6 or 8 inch long. Always has a deep tone, never has that scream. Sounds Fk'n wicked when the Vtec hits in < if you have it >.
This is an exhaust style that you DONT want a bigger outlet than inlet. It will make the car scream at high RPM, and will give that nasty poping sound.
