Best Way to Take Off?
with an automatic, it is pretty popular to hold the brake down while revving slightly and then releasing the brake while you floor it...not necessarily good for the car, but its how they do it in the major auto magazines.
Or you could go to a track but this time of year none are open so that's out. I've always been around 3K when I launch. I've only done it a few times in my current car but my 98 I did quite often. haha You just have to get a feel for it more than anything.
If you watch close this guy launches at around 4000 rpm and seems to do fine.

hold the revs around 3-4k do not dump the clutch. ease off as you give gas like you would normally but just do it faster. expect a little tire chirp but if u keep spinning dip the clutch to gain traction.
Hold it around 3k (play with different RPMs... reasonable ones... until you find your best launch RPM). Then quickly feather the clutch (and give it gas, duh). If you want a good place to do this go all the way out on Fox Lake Rd. at night time and turn around at the park gate, no one is ever there.
this can also change as the tire tread wears down. you have to compensate for how much traction you have.
