I am looking at buying a Honda civic lx 2002,any suggestions on what to look for.
Is there any problems with them.

 

Look for the shocks... They're particulary bad on the 6th generation... Soft and not very trustable... Maybe you should change them for better performance in a few months... The other ting is the Timing Belt. VERY important on 1998- 2004 vehicules approximately... I don't know the exact year... Honda made rubber Timing Belt instead of steal and every Honda has to change the timing belt every 5 years... Well, not all of them but these years particulary...

But it's a great Civic... Make sure the 110 000 km didn't kill the car xD

In Canada we've got some magasines such as Protege-vous which is comparable to a Consumer Report we can have too...

And my dad owned a 2000 Honda Accord.... Trust me, the timing belt is very important... Look on Internet just for fun.... Look.. 85 % of Honda's timing belt have been changed....

Make sure the timing belt and water pump have been changed, general maintenence has been kept up, make sure the check engine light comes on then goes off when you start the car.

Wow... can I ask a question? Do you even own a car? Exactly how old are you? I've been reading through your posts, and from what I can tell, you know nothing about cars. The timing BELT is supposed to be made of rubber. A timing CHAIN is made of steel. Timing belts and chains both wear out over time and need replaced at a regular service interval; I believe the recommended interval is something along the lines of 80k miles, but most people change them around every 100k miles. THAT is why 85% of honda's timing belts have been changed. Just like every other manufacturer's cars.
