Default Buying a Used Civic

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but I am looking to buy a used civic possibly between 91-95, I've owned a 86 civic before but had to get rid of it because I joined the military.

Right now I need a vehicle pretty quick so I'm gonna buy one in the 2k price range.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on mechanical maintenance or replacements I should do immediately after buying it assuming there are no immediate mechanical problems with the car. Then what I should plan to replace in the long term especially since I plan to put aftermarket parts on it, then finally work on the interior.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

anytime i buy a vehicle that i plan to keep for myself i always install a new timing belt, water pump and a complete tune up. then i inspect the car for things needing repairs like cv axles, brakes, tie rods, ball joints.
