I have had a 4 door LX sedan on order since 1 Nov of last year. Color is Tango red and I ordered the car with a 5 speed manual. My dealer gets a production date from Honda and then three days later they push it back another 3-5 days. Dealer told me he has contacted his rep several times but I still do not have a VIN number and the production is pushed back again. Dealer further states he does not believe it is a color issue but just in case I gave him the option to order one in Atomic Blue or Silver. Still no car.
Does anyone have any idea why the factory will not build this car for me?

the red color was held back for a late release. I've yet to see a red new civic on the roads, so they may still be holding them back from production.

 

I have seen red civic's at my dealers for 6 weeks or more. But they have all been automatics

 

ask your dealer to do a trade with another dealership for your car.

if he wants a sale, he'll do it...

 

Actually I JUST saw one for the first time on Sunday. It was the dark red 4 door. Like this!

What was the holdup?

 

to build up anticipation. just like they did by holding back the release of the Sis.

 

My dealer said he has tried to trade with other dealers. He said he simply can't find a manual transmission in a 4 door LX. Are you guys seeing a lot of 5 speed 4 doors?

 

then tell him the deal is off. then he will get desperate and start knocking off dollars and adding options
