Default Changing Gauge Cluster

I have a 96 Civic DX Hatchback that has gauge cluster with no tachometer. Can I put in a gauge cluster from a Ex or one with a tachometer and the wiring work or does the wiring have to be added? Any ideas on best method to find a tachometer cluster.
Thanks

All the wiring is there, just take yours out and put the new one in. All the plugs are behind it. A new cluster would be easily obtainable through craigslist or people parting out cars, your local junk yard might even have one. But civics get picked over so fast good luck lol.

I dont know if it is the same for EK's as EG's but I just did mine and I had an extra plug from my old cluster that there was no where to stick it on the new cluster...

and I have no idea what that plug was for because everything in the cluster works perfectly.

But if you do get a new cluster you have to find one that has around the same mileage correct?

I put a cluster from a '99 EX into my '98 DX and the tach and all works great. The "new" cluster has about 10,000 fewer miles on it than the car has, but I just keep track of my mileage each time I get gas and add the miles up. I got the cluster off of eBay for $50 shipped.

its a direct plug and play, just find one and pull yours out and put new one in. as long as its from the same generation
