Hi..... I have an 2002 Honda civic ex automatic, when driving sometimes the cheek engine comes on and the engine starts to sputter, stall and drag. Now this happened at night time so I pulled over and pop the hood, I noticed the area around the o2 sensor was glowing hot red! Aster waiting for about fifteen minutes I started up and drove normally........any suggestions?

 

When the check engine light comes on, a trouble code is stored and can be retrieved later even if the problem resolved itself. So you should get the codes checked. Many auto parts stores will do a simple check for free.
