ORIGINAL: rallystang

1)What is a 'VTEC' controller? Mounted on steering wheel.
2)DC Headers add how much power?
3)AEM Intake?
4)Looks like an extra oil filter in engine bay? What for?

5)Billet bars in trunk(from shock tower to shock tower) and underneath rear end? What are they called?
6)With these mods, what will I run in the 1/4 mile? Gas MPG?

7)What can I do with a 'VTEC' controller? Modify A/F? Timing? Just the VTEC RPM engagement?
First off, congrats, I wanted to get a VTEC del sol, but couldn't find one.

1)It should be a VAFC. (VTEC and Air to Fuel Controller). Basically says it in the name, you can set your VTEC point (switchover to high cam profile) and you can "tune" your A/F. Honestly, sell it. VTEC is perfect where it's set stock unless you have bigtime modifications. It "tunes" A/Fs by pulling timing and tricking the car to add more fuel. This is not accurate in any way shape or form, you'll be better off if you convert to OBD1, chip the ECU, and tune using that.

2)Eh, 2-3 crank hp at the most.

3)Yup, looks like the previous owner coldboxed it too (boxed the filter in to keep it from drawing in hot air).

4)Uh... need pics.

5)The one in the trunk is a strut bar. It's job is to try to stiffen the chassis. Normally strut bars don't do much, but Sols are known for their horrible body roll, so these will be more of a noticable change. Pics of the one under the trunk? It's either a swaybar (which prevents body roll and seriously helps understeer) or it's a tiebar (which does... well... absolutely nothing[8D])

6)Probably mid to low 15s and 30ish MPG. Might want to put midgrade in it too (89) if you feel like paying for it, it'll run a bit better. Don't need to though.

7)What can you do with it? Sell it.

Have fun with it!
