Civic EC scraping noise from steering wheel
Hi,
Has anyone any idea why my the steering wheel in my 1990 Civic EC9 has started to make a cardboard scraping sound when stationary and turning? The sound seems to be coming directly from the portion of the steering column that concerns the wheel itself and not from the engine compartment (power steering pump, serpentine belt, etc.). Looking at the exploded schematics suggests there may be an issue with the contact plate, horn, slip ring or coil springs but I don’t know which of those elements is most likely to be at fault.
Thanks.
