Default squeek from steering

My shocks and springs are all bad ( damn chicago potholes) so the springs squeek all the time, but i hear a squeek when im stopped and i turn the steering wheel to the left or to the right. Is that from the shocks or does that sound like something else?

Might the noise be coming from the power steering? If so, check the fluid level and the belt tension.

I know that when its cold and i drive my car the steering wheel itself squeks when i turn either way but i believe its just the wheel because it goes away when warm. Does it sound like its inside the passenger compartment or engine bay.
