Cleaning Side Mirrors?
I was not totally sure where to post this but here I go.
My dad and I recently fixed a 1998 Civic LX. It was hit pretty hard in the front. It needed some frame work, two new finders, hood, bumper and grill. After we got it all together and painted I sent about two weeks cleaning it. Right now I have got it near perfect.
So my question is the side view mirrors are full of water stains. What can I use to get rid of those? I have tried windex/409 and they don't even touch them. They mirror is not glass it is a plastic material so I can't use steel wool like I used on the windows.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Josh

you shouldn't use steel wool on glass either, it will leave small scratches that can lead to cracks from temperature changes. you need to use plastic scrub pads rather than steel. as for the mirrors, I used a stain remover compound with plastic scrub pads. It will still leave slight visible scratches, but it's definitely better than not being able to see out of them like mine were.
