Default Cluster install from LX to DX

Can you take a cluster from a 98 LX and put it in a 96 DX and it work ok. Both cars are manual. Just LX has tach in cluster, and original 96 cluster did not have tach. I hope for the tach to work....really want a tach

yes it will work..... just pop out your current speedometer out (unscrew it)and put on the one from the LX so you can have the same mileage reading. So you wont sit and the roll back or forward it to match the other cluster

Can you actually roll the 96-00 ones back? I tried when I swapped my cluster but I couldn't see any way to do it without stripping the gears or something.

you can do it manually through the back with your fingers you just spin it forward or backwardbut it will take a long azz time. You got to push the 1st set ofnumber from the left side. that controls everything

i tried that the other day when i was playing around with my stock cluster. It takes forever to roll back a few miles. I tried taking it apart but it's not going to work unless you break it.

^ you can take just the speed/odometer section out of your cluster and replace the one on the other cluster. Just two small silver screws on the back of the cluster. JUST DONT TOUCH THE NEEDLES OR YOU'LL NEED A NEW CLUSTER/SECTION
