RE: Clutch Bypass Unit
well if buying a remote starter system SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY on a failsafe unit..... if you have a actual bypass unit and the alarm setup for the system it will work great... the way those units let you start the car is. if you do not leave the motor running and pull the ebrake handle, and then you have to get out of the car with the motor still running, then arm the alarm system.... then the motor will turn off and your set...
and if someone unlocks the doors or opens the door it will not allow the remote system to start the motor. very nice foolproof system. just be sure its made for a manual transmision!
if not its always a risk. and depends on your habits!
i have my 94setup to start all the time. BUT then again i NEVER leave my car in gear.... NEVER!!!!!!!!
if ya park on a hill... remember your drivers manual..... your suposed to turn the wheels
unless its a STEEP hill i trust my Ebrake, but then again i dont park on any hills.

RE: Clutch Bypass Unit
Its actually not that bad, just sounds like a lot of work. In practice it takes maybe an extra 5 seconds when parking and getting out of the car. The only thing I have to remember is to hang on to my keys, cause as soon as I shut the door, the car locks and arms and the motor shuts off automatically. So if I were to leave my keys on the seat, I'd be pretty screwed! Although I do always keep a spare key in my wallet.
