Default coolant

hey what kind of coolant should i top my car off with?
the liquid is blue - can i just get any blue kind from autozone and not from a honda dealership? is it okay to mix? I dont want to do a full on flush.

only use honda brand coolant. The only place that i know of that sells are honda dealers.

i use prestone fom my local auto store. i think for coolant you don't have to use honda, thats just IMO. but remember to mix the coolant with water, something like 80% coolant and 20% water. this also depends on your driving conditions

I use a 50/50 mix of prestone and water with no problem.

do i have to mix coolant with water??
is there only one type of honda coolant for civics?

isnt there a honda type 2 coolant that does not require mixing?

Yes type 2 is 50/50 long life coolant.

that's way off
you want 50/50, and for warmer climates you can use 40/60
water cools better than antifreeze but has a lower boiling point

btw, what color should coolant be? For some reason mine is kind of redish. I bought my car at 48,000 miles (01 civ)
