Default crash safety of civic

Many people think civic is poor on crash safety since its body is light and thin. Is it true? But It is also reported to be good in crash test by IIHS, such as, Gold medal awards for 2006 Civic? I am confused?????? I believe that Driving Jeep is safer than driving 2006 Civic. Do you think so? How about frontal crash between 2006 Civic and Jeep Leberty or other truck? Is civic still good in crash safty??

Link to 01-05 civic's here

Jeep Liberty tests here
Link to all Jeeps testing for their current lineup here
So according to these test by the IIHS the Civic is safer to drive the a Jeep Liberty... so the answer is no

Size is not always an advantage in a crash. It depends on a lot of variables, but you can tell by how we've made a move away from the tanks of the 60's and 70's and our fatality rates are still going down. The Jeep also poses a much greater rollover risk.

Have you looked at how this car is made? The unibody is designed to direct the impact around the passenger compartment. That is why the front pillars are as massive as they are. This is a small car I feel very safe in, and it will not roll over in a angullar impact. I see too many crashes with SUVs (tall, top-heavy) where a rollover caused deaths or severe injuries. With front and side airbags, you will get bounced around, but you will live in a severe crash. But the best thing is of course to drive safe and defensively to avoid getting into a wreck. Take a defensive driving course! Your insurance company will thank you.
