Default D Series

I am gonna rebuild an engine for a school project and i have a 94 lx stock d series engine and wanna know wat the most powerful d series engin is that I can get so I dont have to swatch the transmission. anyone help me?

I'd say the d16y8, at a whopping 127bhp.

+1, D16y8 is the most up to date D16. Do you plan on swapping it into your 94 LX? It may be easier for you to do a D16z6 unless you want to convert to OBD2. The y8 is OBD2 and the z6 is OBD1. Your 94 is already OBD1. Doing a z6 lets you skip a step.

i have a 92' Civic DX with a ZC/d15
i have a AEM cold air intake, OBX Intake Manifold, new headers/ downpipe, a Hi Flow Catalytic Converter, dual exhaust, 10mm sparkwires etc.. and tons of suspension work.
im tryin to get an estimate of my HP. i figure its around 150-166. any ideas?

well since suspension work is great for hp you're actually prob looking at closer to 300hp

3hp fro the cai
5hp fro the header
2hp for the cat
5hp for the exhaust

(these are all +/- but still close)


what d15 motor do you have?
