Default D15b transmissions...

So I hear that any D-series transmission would fit my D15b Vtec. And what I wanna know is how effective would it be for me to replace my current Si Transmission(which is actin up, hence the need for a replacement) with a
D15b7 transmission? Would there be any substantial loss of power or anything like that? Thanks.

Pretty sure that the tranny you have now has the same gearing as a D16Z6, except that yours may have an LSD.
D16Z6, JDM D15B, and D16Y8 transmissions are the shortest geared D-series transmissions there are. D16Y8 transmission is geared slightly different in like one gear and then the final drive... it's a very minor and unnoticeable difference, and the D16Y8 transmission is pretty equivalent to the D16Z6 transmissions, except for the D16Y8 transmission is made of steel as opposed to aluminum.

By putting a D15B7 transmission on your acceleration will suffer quite a bit, but gas mileage may increase some due to longer gears.

well I did Find a D16Y8 transmission, And a D16Z6. But yeah, as of now the transmission that I have says D15B on it. unless theres another way to check it. I'll double check with the sellers and see how many miles are on it, and I kinda doubt theres a way to check the condition of them. Cause I'm sure for sake of sale that anyone could just say that their transmission is good.

alright, what about a d16a1??

and I also found a z6 transmission, but i guess it has a hydro clutch. is it possible to get a cable clutch for it and install it, or would I be stuck with a hydro clutch and I'd have to do a conversion.

any help would be great, thanks.
