del sol trade
i have this guy who wants to trade his 93 del sol for me
we would trade just the body
he wants his engine and ecu
and i want my rims and tires
the car is clean, and so is the suspension!!!
we would swap the engines together side by side
it doesnt have a/c so we would swap that out of mine and put it in the del sol
only thing is, is that it is from Tennessee
and it has a straight pipe and no cat
so what do you think??
i am looking for answers from del sol owners... *cough couch* trust
haha
but i also want your opinion,
thanks guys

I don't think 96-00 Civic A/C system will fit in it. How much of the A/C parts are missing on the del Sol?
The only time not having A/C in a del Sol sucks is on the interstate, in the rain, or if it's HOT (and I live in FL so my definition of hot is 95º+). Otherwise, you can just roll down all 3 windows (back window rolls down) and you get a real nice breeze. I guess you could roll the windows down on the interstate but if you ask me, the wind noise you get at 65-70 MPH is pretty annoying after about 5 minutes.

it sounds a little sketchy to me, do you know the guy? because 6th gen civics arnt hard to come by at all, It makes me wonder why someone all the way from Tennessee would drive out to CA to trade for a car that wouldn't be very hard to find locally. If everything turns out to be legit though, it sounds like an awesome trade. wish I had a del sol.

this guy is in the army,
hey just got stationed here and he is stations like an hour and a half away.
found me on craigslist
i mean it seems legit, he would smog it and everything for me.
he said it was backed up into at walmart a month ago, and he is picking up a new door for it this week,
he said its "capital blue" idk whatthat means but he said its the saME color.
as for the ac??
we are going to try and swap everything over, why wouldnt it fit???
also...shift linkage?
he has a b18 in it right now
and i would be putting a d16 in it
does this mean we will both have to get new linkage?
would my linkage fit in the del sol? will he have to get the si linkage?

Captiva Blue Pearl, are you sure that's not the color he said or meant?
Why wouldn't A/C components fit? Because a del Sol is not a 6th generation Civic...... the A/C lines are most likely somewhat different
You'll need new shift linkage, from a del Sol S or Si. Keep that B-series linkage if you plan on swapping in a B-series, or keep it and sell it... it's worth quite a bit of $$$ because del Sol shift linkage is unique, and since del Sol VTEC models are pretty rare, this makes the B-series del Sol shift linkage sort of hard to come by.

^ Im with these guys...it sounds like ull be puttting a lot of work and money into this and in the end ull have a del sol with a D16y7 in it He'd be getting the better deal since hes got a B18 in the sol that will be prety nasty in your EK coupe. So i say no it isnt worth it if u ask me, just keep an eye out for a y8 or z6 and pursue that.
