RE: difference between Ex and Hx?
I have an '99 HX and its great. Little harder to find after market parts for it, but its a great car. I get about 35-40mpg, so that's a plus. My car came with AC but no power windows or locks. You can always add that kinda stuff.

About 80% highway and 20% city. If I drive more in the city, I get around 34-36 mpg. Since I started working the early morning shift, I rarely see traffic so I usually get over 400 miles per tank of gas. Last year my mileage was pretty bad, I had a cracked exhaust manifold, clogged EGR valve, slipping clutch, and misfires on all cylinders. I think I was getting around the high 20s to the low 30's. Fixed all the problems and my mileage is back like when I bought it new.
Since gas is close to 3.50 dollars per gallon, I try to be more careful in how I am driving. Coasting to stale green lights and no rabbit launches from red lights.
