Default enjoying the ride

Our new 2008 EX has been fun so far. We have 800 miles on it so far. I have been driving a big vehicle for so many years and now I am in this little car. I will be honest, I didn't think I could do it. The car is fun to drive and has enough power to keep me somewhat happy (I am used to driving a 400hp truck). The best thing about our new car is......I had to go to class this weekend. I left work, drove to school and drove home today.....$18.00 total.

I used to take my truck and spend $45 to $50.00 for the same trip.

35.749 MPG......instead of 15mpg.

Who needs 400HP when the vehicle only weighs a couple thousand lb? I laugh when people blindly write off a modern economy car as "gutless". My '00 non-VTEC sedan is only rated for about 107HP, but it pulls mtn passes better than an '06 190HP 4.0L Rubicon. It also gets 2X the MPG doing it. Unless you're using it at the track, or hauling heavy stuff, there's no need for mega-HP.

If you really want to start having fun with your new Civic, upgrade the tires, suspension, and brakes...then get a short-throw shifter. If you want to save even more gas money and move even quicker with less than 150HP, try a moto.

Well, one thing, I don't like Honda's Accord - seems big and heavy like a GM car and it's ugly! Yay for Civic and Fit!
