Default floating cruise control?

everytime i press the set button, my green cruisecontrol light turns on but it will coast down 5mph under where i set it and then suddenly take off back up to the set speed. its a 2000 ex stick, ive never had cruise on a stick before so i was wondering if it was normal??

i still need a power driver side mirror bracket or entire mirror!!

Try keeping your foot on the gas until the cruise picks up. The actuator has to wind up the cable before it can operate the accelerator.

It does the same in my '95 Civic. I'll be cruising, push the button and let off the gas and it'll drop down a couple mph before it engages. It works perfectly fine other than that so I don't care. My '99 Civic engages immediately though.
