Question Front tire issues 90 civic?????

On my 1990 Honda Civic LX I bought a set of Kumho KR21 tires last year. Well I never paid a bunch of attention to them since they were new & I had it in the tire shop a couple of times, I assumed they checked them since I know the guys real well.
Anyway, 19,000 miles later I'm changing the oil & filter & I notice the front tires don't look right, I get to looking & the front tires are down to the tread bars (WORE OUT) Now this is an automatic car so burning the tires even in water doesn't happen. The alignment is out a small amount, but these were wore out fairly even on both sides.
So my question it has anyone else ever wore out a set of front tires in under 20K?
I mean I got that much out of the old bias ply tires, & even old recapped tires in the 60s.

Yes, the tires should have been rotated. I am not sure exactly how often, but front tires on a FWD car see more "abuse" that the rear which just basically follow along. My brother never rotated his front tires on numerous sets and he just keeps wearing down the fronts until there is nothing left, then replaces them. He goes through 2 tires at least once a year.

I rotate my tires every 5k. I have been using the same tires on the 99 Civic for the past 4 years since I got the car. Even with my car lowered etc etc, I rotated them often. They still have passable tread left on them. Actually, two of them are being used as the rears on my g/f's Integra currently.

This is relatively normal if you dont rotate and have the alignment slightly off. Honestly it's not that big of a deal because it's actually better to have the better tread in the back for general stability of the car in rain and snow. I would buy two new tires and put them in the back, and move your old rears up front.

Yeah that's what I do, replace two at a time and rotate the used rear tires up to the front only then. Front tires do all the turning and most of the stopping, so even if you aren't heavy on the gas pedal, they're still going to wear out much faster than the rear.

One thing I found out is Kumho tires are made off a softer than most rubber compound. Also I was talking with a buddy of mine & he bought two sets of Kumho tires for his Dodge trucks, & he said they were the worst tires he ever bought. In fact he threw them away & bought a different brand after the fourth time in less than 10,000 miles he had blow outs. My wife had a blow out on one of these Kumho's on the back at about 13,000 miles.
The back tires are on the front now & they look wore bad enough in 20,000 miles that I doubt they will last two rotations if I do the rotations every 5K. So bottom line is 60,000 mile Kumho tire will last at best 30,000 miles. My Blazer 4x4 gets 50,000 miles on a set of tires. It has 173,000 miles on the front end parts including shocks (all factory OEM) My Jeep 5.9 Limited AWD has 14,000 miles on a set & they hardly show any wear. I went 10,000 miles before I rotated them.
So I'm leaning on thinking Kumho tires are not much good. I can assure one thing I will never buy another Kumho tire ever.
