hey, i have a 94 cx hatch, and i notice as i go up or down hills, or unlevel ground, the fuel gauge tach moves up and down, is this just a normal thing with this year of civic? I have owned an 02 civic and it never did that with the gauge, I find it difficult to tell what amount of fuel is left unless im parked in the garage[&:] so is it a problem with the tach or is it just normal?

on my 00 ex coupe....when i have about 1/2 tank, and go around on ramps and off ramps, the needle goes down to Empty, then comes back up to 1/2 tank.

must be die to the fuel moving around in the tank causing the gauge to read at the lowest level.

just my 7 cents.

 

Well all of my hondas/acura have done what you decribe and they vary from 89 to 96...i guess it depends on where you sensor is placed in the tank...

Ya it is your sensor, when you are going up a hill all your gas sits on one side of the tank and the sensor is probably on the other side, which tricks it into thinking you have no gas, or not a lot of gas. It usually only happens to older cars, nothing to worry about.
