Default Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) and Short Ram

Whats the difference between FIPK and Short Ram from the picture I saw FIPK is basically short ram, BUT they have it labeled under the sale of COLD AIR INTAKE? Which is it? and would FIPK be better for an 03 civic lx? or a complete cold air intake? if considering both are from K&N

sure thing here is a link to the FIPK for K & n
http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...x?Prod=57-3513

If you look up air intakes for an 2003 honda civic lx you will see 3 of the intake systems which they label as Cold Air Intake, Short Ram , and FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit)
if you check the picture for the FIPK it basically is a short ram with a heat shield or so it seems like it to me

Oh, I have seen this before at the auto parts store. I didn't know it was called "FIPK". The name makes it sound like more than just an intake.

But yea, it looks good. The heat shield is the only difference between it and a standard short ram from what I can tell, which in theory should help. However, I worry about airflow with the heat shield. Does it place the filter in an area where there is continuous airflow (such as behind the upper bumper grille)? I would worry that the heat shield would negatively affect airflow more than it helps with heat.

I am not sure though... K&N probably wouldn't make it if it wasn't better... but then again they are a business and they're #1 priority is to make money... meaning that if they can convince you to buy it for more money because they say it's better, then they are accomplishing their goal.

Personally I would just go with a standard short ram or cold air intake.
