Default fuel tank size

The other day i had to go to town but was a little low on gas, nettle was almost on the red line. Gas in town ws $0.15 cheaper than here, so i though id chance the 25 mile drive and actually drive sensibly for once (kept it at 55). Got to the gas station and it only took 8.7 (yes im sure it actually filled up all the way)

I thought i read somewhere that my car has a 12gal tank... so is my gas guage just 3 gal off or did honda make a 9 or 10gal tank? I would rather not run the tank dry to find out for sure.

I filled mine yesterday and it took 9.5 gal almost on the red line. Mine has a 12 gallon tank. I think the gauge is adjusted that way so you don't run out of gas. When you think you are out you still have a couple of gallons left.

I'd agree with civicbeater.. Mine always is right on the red line and fill up is about 8-9 gallons.. but I'm sure I have a 11-12 gallon tank. Smart move for those individuals who like to wait to see if their gas light works.
