We also have no reason to believe the CEL is not on or that it works.

I agree.

I was simply trying to state that you are not suggesting that there is a problem, you are just making sure there isn't a problem. I didn't want him to worry over it.

Oh and the thing about changing the distributor that was suggested by sfazngiants... Seems to me like an unnecessary and random thing to do. It only needs to be replaced if there is something wrong with it. However, the cap and rotor should be replaced regularly, and the ignition coil may need to be replaced eventually.

Turn the key to ON(II). The check engine light (CEL) should turn on and then off after 2 seconds if it works and there are no CEL codes stored in the ECU (computer).

When you hear clicking but the engine doesn't turn at all that is a problem with the battery, starter, or large wires between them. Try jump-starting from another car, maybe the battery just ran down.

when i turn my car on to stage 2 the check engine light comes on but then turns off after two seconds like you said. so this means that there is nothing wrong with my engine correct? and about the battery it only doesn't start when its wet like if its raining very hard or if there is snow on my car. when i bought the car i checked the battery and it was fully charged.
