How can I tell what Genration Civic I have? I have a 97 Civic hx. Is there a way to tell by the VIN # or just the year of the car?

Interesting link thanks. I never realized my 90 was a forth gen. I remember when the first Honda's came to the US in the early 1970s. I was living in the SF Bay Area & they were very small, looked cheap, & were powered by a 600 cc motorcycle engine. I would of never guessed in those days that Honda would become what it is today.
