Default Going to go check out a 2000 EX coupe, looking for price advice

Hi i'm totally new to this forum. I'm going to go check out a 2000 civic EX coupe on Sunday. It has 102,000 miles and has 2 "total loss" reports on its carfax report. It also shows that it has had 6 previous owners.

I'm just curious to see what you guys think i should pay for this car? Is there any thing i should look for or pay attention to? The dealer has it listed at $5,499. The listing can be seen here: 2000 Honda Civic EX 102000 miles, 5 Speed Manual

All i'm looking to buy this vehicle for is to use it commuting to and from work

Heres its carfax..

I payed $3000 1 year and half ago, it had 129k miles on it in Ohio.
Mine was a private party, i personally think dealers are complete ripoffs unless you're getting a nice warranty with it.
I honestly don't think that price is fair because EK Ex coupes are everywhere, you could prolly get one for a lot less... I'll sell you mine for 5 grand though! lol just kidding! mines got new everything! hah!
you could get an integra or an accord with much nicer interiors and motors for that price.

So if i were to buy this one, would $3,000 sound like a good maximum price?

$3k sounds good to me. 6 owners and two total losses, the car should be no where near that asking price, but hey, they call them stealerships for a reason!

Knowing what you know you should run as fast as you can from that rip-off joint. Find a better car. Crap they want the money of a certified car for a wreck. I agree they call them Stealerships for a reason.

One total loss run for the hills. Two total loss, they should give the car away for free.
