Default Good Buy?

I'm looking at a 93 Si with an exhaust and short ram, and a motor with 60k miles. The car itself has 163k, but the owner got a new stock motor not too long ago. It's been garage kept and is in good condition. They want $3,800 for it. Is this an alright price? If you guys don't think so, how much should I try and bargain for? And are the D16Z6's good engines for performance? Thanks for the help guys.

It's a little high. I would check out the transmission, is it manual auto? How many miles are on the swapped engine? What other parts have been updated? Find out some more information about it and see if you can test drive it, see if it burns oil and how the clutch is.

D16z6 has vtec with 125 hp stock, but it's a sohc (single over head cam) so not that powerful without internal engine work and/or turbo done.

It's manual, and the swapped engine has about 63,000 miles. It's got some new seals and a new timing belt, and the paint is in good condition. And all work done was by a Honda Professional.
