let's see if i had to get a 94 civic with 310,000 the most i would pay would be $500 if it's in decent running condition and i'm sure most people would agree with me. since it's dx and not lx or ex i wouldn't pay more than $300. I sold a 93 civic lx for $1500 and it was in really bad condition but even then it had somewhere of about 150,000 or so miles. double miles on a car is the single biggest turnoff to any buyer and right there a car is worth less than half of what's the seller is asking for.
Oh hell i sold a 93 Maxima for $450 and that car had half the mileage of the one your looking at, and the car ran decently with freezing a/c except for the transmission, the damn thing wouldn't go any higher than 30 MPH and you needed to shift to "3" to get it to go faster. and that's what killed the price was the transmission, and it was automatic not manual. so that should shed some light into how much the car your looking to get is worth.
Don't pay more than $200-$300 i would say....

I wouldn't care what the mileage is, if the car has been around to see 310,000 miles, then most of the ordinary replacement parts have probably already been replaced (i.e. suspension, seals, boots, brakes, etc.) So if it is in ok condition and it drives smoothly, then I say go for it. I mean, 310k is a lot for a motor, which would be cheap to replace, but 310k on a body that hasn't been maintained can be a hassle.

Well if the car does have lots of new parts i would give him no more than $400 if he can prove there new and how many new parts, it's a stick shift and a dx, use that with way too many miles as excuses and see if he's willing to go down to $400. the car is not worth $600 no matter how many new parts it has. he was better off going to the junkyard if he was smart and gotten a lower mileage dashboard, then he can sell it to someone who wouldn't know any better for more than $600.

301,000 Miles? All the fun in that car was used-up over 100,000 Miles ago. Once you get close to 200K ... if the thing wasn't baby-dolled its not far away from needing something expensive. I'd have to recommend you take a PASS on that deal. The days of something Nickel and Dime-ing you to death are long gone. Now, you're into Big-buck fixes. And putting big-bucks into a car already driven to the nearest star and back isn't a wise decision to make ... even if it will run good for a few days.
Let it go. Save the money. You don't ever want to buy a nightmare.
