Default Is this a good price?

2,500 for a well maintained 98sx coupe completely OEM, no wrecks, and a complete list of service records, I was told it'll need a timing belt soon but has new brakes, and recent oil flush

Lmk

what you guys think?

btw this is from a friend I have already been in the car several times no squeeks or anything still runs strong

Sounds about right for a 98, if it's in good shape. Body looks good, paint still ok? And where are you located? I don't think I've heard of an sx trim.

I paid 2700 for my EX with a rebuilt title.. it needed brakes, timing, tires and the front fender was crumpled with 100k on it. My friend paid 2700 for a golf ball sized hail damaged 98 EX with more miles.. I think anythin under 2500 where I am would need a tranny or something.. If your friend is selling it I wouldn't worry especially if he's a good friend and you've been in the car on multiple occasions. Keep in mind timing can cost you $100-800 depending on who/how you do it.. Maybe post pics? It seems like a legit deal and those receipts will benefit you later IF you ever plan to resale

Yes, it is a good deal if the mileage isn't through the roof, especially in Southern California. I paid $5000 for the CX (bone stock) almost 5 years ago with 90,000 miles on the clock.

Ouch.. 180K.. that's not THAT bad.. you can consider the fact that you KNOW that it has been maintained... Trust your gut on that one.. If the body is as nice as you say it is and the maintenance records are available I PERSONALLY wouldn't worry that much.. then again a Honda Civic engine here.. is... maybe $500

I say it's a good price...well..according to KBB anyway: 1998 Honda Civic - Private Party Pricing Report - Kelley Blue Book

If it's in EXCELLENT condition..you're getting a deal.
