2nd gear slips can this be the transmission. and 3rd grinds. only 2nd slips-dont know the year sorry brothers car. first gear burnouts- 2nd gear if you shift fast it will slip if you shift slow nothing 3rd gear grind if you shift above 2500 rpm. i got a new trans but i would like to know if i should buy a new clutch. thanks

 

im not really a trans kinda guy but im gna say that som1 raced it alot and 3rd gear is bout go.. an 2nd gear on its way.. so yea u prob gna have to get new 1 or rebuild. i had a 93 hatch b18 swap and it did the samethng till i culdnt even shuve it to 3rd

 

if i had to guess, i would say its time for a clutch. shifting into second quickly causes my clutch to slip as well. no grinds tho. possible its a combo of clutch and synchros.
