Help a newb: Unsure on gear change/redline

[ul][*]Found in:
[ul][*]1992-1995 Honda Civic DX (European Market)
[ul][*]Displacement: 1343 cm3[*]Bore and Stroke: 75 mm X 76 mm[*]Compression: 9:1[*]Power, Torque: 75 hp @ 5300 rpm[*]Valvetrain: SOHC, 4 valves per cylinder[*]Fuel Control: Carburettor [/ul][/ul][/ul]
The above is the engine i have in my DX (since im in the uk) and ive been worrying lately about pushing it too much. I know it aint a fast car but its my first car so im happy with it.I dont race about the streets or whatever, just sometimes worry i change gear too late.
It doesnt come with a tach stock so im not sure whatt the redline is, so was wondering if you guys could help me out, mayabe with how far i should push each gear, i'm a newby to mechanics so am not 100% sure on what all the above details mean.
I'm in the process of sorting out a universal tach but again i dont think that will help too much without knowing the redline of the car itself. so, in the mean time, if anyone could help me out with how far too push each gear, it would help alot, thanks.

you could always switch out your guage cluster for an EX cluster. that's rather painless as I understand it.
good luck with that, you're on the right forum if you want some good answers quick

hmmm...i would guess 1st 15mph, 2. 25-35 3. 45-55 4. 60-75....thats just a guess, im much to tired to go out and try it in my 98...i realise there not the same gears, but that should still be a close range....oh, and if you want to really push it, 3rd can go like 75 4th to like 110-120....but thats just from what i know about the d16 we have...i would just swap clusters.

hey...I think there might be a DIY for that on here.
if not, someone on here that fools with guages all the time could make one for you real quick. I'm pretty sure that it's basically a couple of screws, and a clip electrical harness or two. I've never done it, but (now correct me if I'm wrong people) it's swap, plug, and go.
