Default Here is one for you

Bought a '95 Coupe.

Check engine light was coming on and going off.

Speedo wasn't working so I changed the sensor and fixed that. Just bought it so I figured the guy that had it probably had never change the O2 sensor so I changed it also. Now the Check engine light stays on constantly. Car runs fine, just bugs the crap out of me.

any ideas?

Have you trried resetting your ECU?

To do so, just simply disconnect your battery for 30 minutes (no less) and re-connect it and fire it up. If that doesnt fix it, then go to Advance Auto to see what code it will throw.

I had disconnected it for 10 minutes or so. That being said, I thought I had reset the ECU.

I will try it for the half hour.

Thanks,

could it be a bad O2 sensor or a bad connection?

OK. Reset the ECU and checked all the connections.

The light is still on. I had taken the car by Autozone to have them check it, but dude told me their code reader wouldn't work on '95 and older models.

Any other suggestions?

Default Figured it out

Checked my plug to see if there was any crud on the contacts. There was. Cleaned it off. Works now.

You'd think I would have checked that already.

Sheesh.

Thanks guys.
