You have to love Honda motors. I have a 98 Hx with 170,303 miles on it. I just did a compression, leak down and vacuum test on the motor. It was like I was testing a new motor. All cylinder at 145-150psi and 100-90% on the leak down. To bad it is coming out for a bigger better B18. I hate to throw away a good motor.

No literally throwing away but it is a useless motor to me. Its a D16Y5 with Vtec-E, dont get me wrong its a great motor. But need more power and cant do that with a Y5. I will be selling it or trading it for engine harness work or parts.

a d16y5 has more power than the d16y7
i think with a little upgrades it would be a good engine.unless your are putting a B"/K series engine
D16Y5- 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E- 96-00 Civic HX (115hp)
D16Y7- 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC- 96+ Civic CX/DX/LX (106hp)

That's a lot of miles.
I'm over 200,000 on my 97 EX and still going strong.
