Default honda civic/accord engine swap

I have a 1996 civic ex and want to put a 96 accord powertrain (enginge/transmission/ecm) and want to know if it will fit. If so what all do i need to make it work? If not can it fit with some modifications?

Don't accords have F22's? Why not just get an H22 from a prelude?

But the f22 would fit, I'm not sure what mounts and such you'd need... i've never really heard of anyone dropping an f22 into a civic before.

yea F series swaps into Civic arent very popular. Might be kind of hard to locate mounts and wiring harness needed to install it

H22 are garbage too heavygo for lighter engine. Why dont u swap for a b16 or b18?

umm... the h22 weighs 35lbs more than a b16... so throw a turbo on a b16 and you've just added more weight than an h22 swap. Someone on honda-tech actually went out and measured the blocks. If you want I can link you to the thread

H22 swap ftw

the problem with the h22 swap is not the weight or length of the block. Its the placement of the engine. Its tough to get it to sit in a good spot even with good mounts but i think Hasport mounts have solved this issue but I'm not sure about that

Yeah, I believe Hasport mounts sit the engine in fairly well, but even then you still have to hammer out part of the frame to even get the engine to fit (and even then the timing belt cover is still like an inch away from the strut tower). Also, I've heard with how the transmission sits, the axles are put at an awkward angle, which can lead to premature failure. But still, H2B ftw!

Honestly, I'd drop an h22 into a civic before any b-series motor (yeah, even a b18c5). The only engine I'd choose over an h22 would be a k20a2 (or k20a, but it's more or less the same engine), and even then it's just for the 6-speed transmission.
