I'm looking to buy a 1993 Honda Civic GTI with DOHC, have tried searching google for this model to find info but there's nothing around. My friend thinks its a Vtec engine, I don't, owners unsure. Does anyone know about this model?? seems to be quite unusual

as far as i know there isnt a such thing as a civic gti...
are you thinking of a vw golf gti? maybe? that has a DOHC 2.8 L option...

I've never heard of a Civic GTi. The logo for GTi looks very cheap and tacky though. As a matter of fact, it looks kind of like a sticker.

 

If not an A gti what then? I’ve seen the original service manual from purchase date, it has it listed as a Civic 3d GTI, and I just want to know what it is.
Rather then claiming it to be something what is isn’t.

To answer an early question I live in New Zealand. The engine number is 2105059 if that helps (dunno if it will didn’t help me)

 

It would have been lovely if Omegakai had provided a full shot of the car. But there is no such thing as a Honda GTI, that looks like an Si with the standard DOHC logo, or possibly a faked-up DX with both the DOHC and "GTI" logos (clumsily) added. Or maybe, possibly, an "R." But again there's no full picture.

In the 80's I drove a VW Rabbit GTI, so I know whereof that designation comes.
