I would like to see some numbers from the dyno. I'm very interested in it! As for me, I have a stg 2 crower shaft, valve springs, tit. retainers, Hondata, skunk2 IM, and an apexi ws2 exhaust. I plan to be turbo'd by the end of the July. I wish I had extra money to go to the dyno, and see the numbers it is putting down before and after the turbo install.

I'm supercharging it in aug. thats wen I'll dyno it... I'm not goin to to it now and waste the money wen I have to bring it to a dyno to tune it the right way. Do u kinda understand what I was gettin at b4? I'm wasnt sayin my cars the fastest thing around but it's fast as hel and pulls hard! lol. the only reason I said go the honda way instead of the wrx way is u can get more hp gain for real cheap compared to buyin a cobb tuning for like 800 bucks then buying a up pipe down pipe and full exhaust which is over $1000 just to really make the cobb tunning work the way its suppose to work... so $1800 gives you a gain of like 50 70 hp or alil more compared to spending the same amount on a honda will give you more hp gain if they buy the right stuff. I'm I kinda right on that?

Well, a turbo kit, pieced together will run about $1800-2000. And that's using the stock motor, which I wouldn't put more than 7-8 lbs on.

You want to build the bottom end (low comp pistons etc) so you can push more boost? You're looking at about an extra $1000 or more. And that doesn't even include the cost of a bigger turbo that you would need.

Or you can go the Greddy kit route, basically a turbo kit in a box. Price is about $2000 on eBay I think. However, there are still things missing such as injectors and all. And the Greddy Kits do not even come with an intercooler, too. Additionally, the greddy kits (if you use the blue box it comes with), will only allow 5 lbs of boost. 5 lbs of boost I bet will get you about an extra 50-60 hp or so.

Sooo, you will tune on a dyno, then use that tune on the street? Doesn't make sense to me at least. Is the ECU you have tunable? I know you don't know much about it, but is it chipped, or just a stock ECU from,.. say a GSR or something?

To the guy whos owned everything and raced against everything and knows everything about everything hes ever raced against... I simply dont believe you.

To the other guy who cant possibly understand why everyone doesnt want to go out and spend $15000 on a new car...
1. A warranty is 'nice' because it covers parts but ultimately parts for my car are cheap and I know how to fix stuff myself so the warranty just doesnt have much value.
2. If I have to spend $12000 on parts for my car to make it fast then you are 100% correct that I should just buy a new car but thank god I dont have to do that. Also I get the vibe that you dont like touching tools. If you do not want to have to work on a car and you can afford to overpay for a new fast car then more power to you. Its all about personal preference.
3. The Subaru is flat out ugly. Again, personal preference.

Thats my two cents. I know it wasnt asked for but I cant help butting in when I see two people going back and forth about the whole 'my dick is bigger than yours' trip.

And also I dnt know much about hondas like everyone else, like the codes ek eg ej things like that I know mines a ej1 or ej6 something like that?

I know what im talkin about I just cant word it right. warranty? lol once you start modding say by to ur warranty, I'm not knockin you or sayin hondas are the only way to go im just stating that its cheaper to mod a honda and make it fast compared to other cars and alot of it is power to weight ratio. my buddy next door has a white wrx wagon with the new cobb tunning acc port v3.2 I think thats right but any way I cant do **** when he has that thing set to stage 1 93 octane but wen he put the stock map in it I smoke em. I have built head, trans, internal and full exhaust. I'm buyin an other wrx this fall way to much fun during the winter. sorry I didnt mean to upset people by miswordin things

Hondas are cheap to mod because the aftermarket is huge, due to the cars being cheap, basic, and easy to work on. That's not a dig at Honda or you Honda lovers, just a simple fact.

Parts for the WRX are more expensive but the results/gains are far superior. You keep referring to the $800 COBB AP like its the only way to go. The reality is that you can pin down a turbo-back exhaust (UP, DP, CB) for $450, a tactix cable for $75, and download maps for freeware, for free. Those simple, tried and true mods on a 2.0l Turbo boxer are enough to keep most owners pretty happy, and N/A Hondas starin at taillights.

You're missing my point about the modded WRX vs STI tho... No matter what you do to a WRX, it's NEVER going to perform like the STI does.

FMUs are the work of the devil, can't imagine it'd be too kind on all those expensive parts you've got inside your motor. Do it right the first time and avoid the headaches

not even close man. yea it is personal preference but the point is that it does cost alot less to mod a honda then other cars. who said anything about spending 12000 on parts? thats just dumb.
