I have a D16Y8 and I consider it an advantage that it doesn't say VTEC on the valve cover.. less odds of someone messing with it/you unless they know what they are doing.

For those of you who do not know what "messing with" means.. where I live there is a higher chance of your engine being stolen for the simple fact that it is a vtec. AND.. if I go to a meet and someone asks me to pop my hood and realize "hey this isn't even a vtec" do you really think I'm going to have to worry about someone wanting to line up to my car? I suppose it applies more so to us "stock" people.. but I think the concept of "messing with" is pretty clear.

On a side note.. Reaper what is the blue hose runnin through the radiator area?

You'd be surprised. 6th gen Civics are one of the top 5 stolen vehicles in my area regardless of what they are. There aren't many DOHC that I know of in my area. They are mostly stolen for parts. It's really not.. at all.. a trouble to steal a Civic. A flat head, five minutes, and a garage to park it is all it takes. I never thought it would be an issue.. I thought people only went after higher models.. I thought wrong.
