you can...... i dont think it would hurt it but be preaty pointless... if ya wanted to coast ya coulda got a stick shift.LOL


but if your still rolling rev the motor up to typical rpm to your speed. that way the transmition doesnt YANK the motor up to speed or the engine yanking the transmition.


would be best to just leave it in gear and go... thats what it was designed for!

What about brake torqueing. I've never really done it, and I know it's kinda stupid with a front-wheel drive car, but that's the best way to launch an automatic, isn't it?

best way to lanch a automatic is with it in gear stomp the gas pedal.LMFAO if ya wanna roast the tires ya shoulda got something that was made to do it all day long!
or upgrade your motor and even swap car for a manual.........

lol I have two friends with camaros one with a v6 one with a v8 and they both though neutral slams were ok for there cars. HMM nope the v6 one crapped out on him and the v8 one will go soon. They think they are so cool.

Well, I'm a poor college student and any money I can save is great! I was thinking if I coast every time I get a chance it would add up and save gas. It's a psychological thing, I know, but I don't want to spend much money if I can help it. Thanks very much for your help!

i can understand ya thier...... but as long as ya drive slow ya should be geting your best milage....


dont be doing hard take offs.LOL

thats the main reason i bought my civic! average 28-36mpg depending on how i drive.LOL
beats the hell outta my trucks average 14-17mpg!

ya but still if ya want beter gas milage whats your next thing? a battery powered car..... then try to burn out in one of those. LMFAO

tho ive never drove one BUT to get that good of milage it cannt be able to take off that good!
wish i had the money to buy one of those tho! id be laughing my @ss off everytime i passed the gas station......
hell i already laugh at people driving these HUGE SUVS..... my truck was killen me with those 55-60dollar fill ups every week!

Yeah, I didn't want to roast tires, just was curious, I don't race. I'm also glad that my Honda gets obscenely good gas mileage. Gas just went up to $3.05 in DeMotte.

o ya gas here was 3.09 afew days ago. now droped to 2.99.9 total BS price gouging!!!!
i love my truck and all it was gonna be my true show truck and daily driver and work truck. BUT with these BS gas prices i just cannt do it anymore! 50-60bucks a week just in gas TO GET TO WORK when i only make about 50-60bucks a day totaly sucks!!!!
