Hybrid vs ex

Hybrid vs ex
So the question is do I get the 08 Hybrid or 08 EX.
It will be driven 40 Miles daily (Monday - Friday) to and from work as well around town.
I hear so much against it, and so much for it. The sales person said it would take 20 years to gain back what you pay-into it as savings vs the gasoline model.
Also is the hybrid better for city driving or hwy driving?
Let the discussion begin!

RE: Hybrid vs ex
welcome to the forum, your sales person is almost right with the hybrid having a much higher msrp than the ex the money you save from buying the ex can be applied to gas. it was stated in motor trend magazine in the long run you will spend more on a hybrid than a gas car the initial cost of the hybrid and up keep. my cousin's father in law has a civic hybrid and know he says if he had to do it over he would have gotten a ex or lx civic. the hybrids are better suited for city driving they get better mileage in the city over hwy

RE: Hybrid vs ex
i think when you hit the brakes, it uses the electrical motor to power the engine, so they actaully get awesome city mileage and then still great, but not as good highway (in the hybrid obviously)
