ok....i need some help here.

I got a b18a (91 teg no vtec) engine sitting here in a 91 teg. Runs great. Ive also got a 2000 Teg LS with the b18b (00 teg non vtec) engine. The bottom end on this engine is shot...knocking and loosing power. Im on a tight budget and need to get my 2000 teg back on the road in a time crunch before i Deploy to afgan. My question here is... Can i take the block from the 91 teg(b18a) and put my head from the 00 teg(b18b) on the block. If so...I want to drop that complete engine back into my 2000 teg. Will this work. They are both non vtec and I was told any b series with swap out. But I need to make sure before I got two engines sitting here. I want to keep my head on there because I got head work done to it. The 91 (b18a) has an auto tranny and the 2000 teg (b18b) is a 5sp. I want to keep it a 5sp. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

The block and head will match right up. The only thing I'm not sure is on the tranny as the b18a was mated to a cable and I think your 00 Teggy has a hydro tranny. I'm not up on trannys yet so you will have to wait for someone more knowledgable to chime in.
