Default Idle Rumbling

Hi, I have a 2000 Civic LX Sedan:
I have a problem, but I'm not quite sure what it is, when I'm idle or stopped with the engine running, the car is rumbling and the exhaust seems to putter. Does anyone have an idea as to what's happening? Thanks in advance for all help.

do you have a tach?? itf you do what RPM is it at when idling cause i know, that when some cars go below 500rpm they have a tendency to do that

It idles at around 500-700. It's a new problem that just arose today, so I doubt it would be that.

Sure its just not the start of a hole in the exhaust?

Possibly a dirty intake manifold or an EGR? Is the check engine light on?

I think I figured out the problem, the air intake wasn't working properly, causing the engine to overheat. It hasn't happened in the past hour while I was driving, so I believe that was the problem, thanks for all the suggestions.
