im confused about a swap, can anyone help??

Default im confused about a swap, can anyone help??

I have a 1992 civic hb cx and the engine has a little rod knock now,and i have a d16z6 long block in my garage that i would like to swap into the civic but i dont know what parts i will need except for motor mounts, exhaust and intake manifolds, and the new ecu. can someone make me a list of the parts that i will need.

you don't need any of the parts you mentioned, besides the ECU.
the ecu is the only part you need.
also, you will need to run wires from the ECU to the VTEC solenoid, or alternatively, install the D16Z6 engine wiring harness.

so all my parts from the cx should fit to the d16??

Doesn't the CX have the 8-valve engine? Not sure if the intakes are the same. If it were a DX with the D15B7 16 valve non-VTEC then certainly you do just change the block/head, ECU, and wire up the VTEC solenoid.

i thought the intake was still the same
since it has been brought up, i would take extra care to look into it

the cx is an 8 valve, so do you think i might need to change the intake? the cx intake look alot smaller then the si.

i'm pretty sure you don't need a new intake manifold, but, the CX manifold is so small that it would be wise to get the Z6 manifold so you can squeeze out some extra hp out of its potential.

You may also need a new wire harness and tranny connections... I'm not 100% on this, but those are things to look for.
