im confused about a swap, can anyone help??
I have a 1992 civic hb cx and the engine has a little rod knock now,and i have a d16z6 long block in my garage that i would like to swap into the civic but i dont know what parts i will need except for motor mounts, exhaust and intake manifolds, and the new ecu. can someone make me a list of the parts that i will need.
you don't need any of the parts you mentioned, besides the ECU.
the ecu is the only part you need.
also, you will need to run wires from the ECU to the VTEC solenoid, or alternatively, install the D16Z6 engine wiring harness.

Doesn't the CX have the 8-valve engine? Not sure if the intakes are the same. If it were a DX with the D15B7 16 valve non-VTEC then certainly you do just change the block/head, ECU, and wire up the VTEC solenoid.
