Interior light issue

I have the thing set to the middle spot so it should come on when the door is open but it doesnt work
The light works if I turn it on, whats the deal

Look at the switch in the door frame.

I looked and dont see one? can u provide a photo or somehting of location?

if from a 92-00 civic the door pins are located on the middle door pillar far down that covers up when the door is closed.... looks like a black rubber grommet...... pull the rubber back from the top and youll see a philip screw... pull the screw out and the door sensor will come out alittle and thier SHOULD be a wire conected to its back.... if not then the wire just came off.... just plug it back in, pop the sensor back inplace and put the screw back... if the wire is unpluged or the screw isnt thier the dome light wont work with the door pin switches...

you could even push a wire into the terminal and then onto the screw hole and if the dome light comes on like normal then it could just be a bad door sensor....
