well afew days ago i got a offer to trade for a 97 chevy extended cab pickup truck and the offer was very interesting... since i used to have a 95chevy extended cab pickup and only reason i sold it was due to gas prices with it being my daily driver.

trading a VTEC motor for a VORTEC motor just add the OR.LOL

so we viewed each others vehicles yesterday and all was good with both of us.... and this morning at 10am we traded vehicles.
so no more automatic civic.....
tho i did slap my rims on the silver96 he didnt have enough cash for the rims also... i told him bring back 500bucks plus the 2good steelie/tires and the other 2 weak steelies and id sell him the rims. i love the rims and all but now i have my heart set on OEM SI 99-00 wheels for my next tax check expetialy since im gonna really slam the 96dx after i paint it!


so heres what i got now a 97 Chevy C1500 extended cab silverado, 3rd door, short bed with the 5.7/350 so far im very happy with the truck but there is afew things i need to fix.... one button for the overhead console and a button for the overhead consoles garage door pin or i might just ghetto it with a pencil that would work...
and the truck shocks the hell outta me when i get out so i need to buy a grounding strap or just learn how to get out of a truck again.... gotta touch that door panel screw and then step out.LOL so far im geting shocked thru my pants on my leg and door sill or hand and door.

i really like that 3rd door and the 5.7.... really easy to smoke the tires!!!

i also did my first burn out with my nice 17s on the silver civic.LOL you know with that automatic it was impossible to do a burn out. but with a clutch drop... o ya

so far i really like the truck.... i just need to add some bass to it, slap my cd player into it and ipod. electric brakes and trailer hitch. i wanna be able to tow my dads large trailers and without electric brakes theres no way for me to stop them.LOL


only other downfall is watching the gas needle drop.LOL already drove about 80miles on it and already seeing the gas needle move....
will be awhile before i can check gas milage but its estimated around 19mpg i believe. ill miss the black civic BUT the silver 5speed has definatly filled the gap.

wow, i'll miss that black civic of yours. but nice trade though for the chevy. what mods went to the next owner? suspension? definitely a nice upgrade when you drive an auto and switch to manual. can't wait to see your new civic get painted and dropped

 

none, he had a whole other thread on demodding it. he's changing all goodies over to the 5spd vsm.

 

oh yeah, i remember that thread. either way still a nice pick up.

 

yep... only thing i kept on it was the alarm system, tilt sensor, and my interior speakers.
everything else got gutted.LOL even the pioneer radio. i slaped a stock cd player into it that i got from Mr Mobsta Man here.
tint i couldnt remove of course and the oem foglights.

it sure is plan as hell.LOL


tho i did leave my blue led cupholder in it.... to much hassle to remove plus i didnt have a stock piece to replace it with. o well..... since i like the 96-00 cupholders better anyways.

Nope no turbo... its already fast enough for me, plus i like it simple and reliable... it might have afew changes but no power adders.

the trucks got all the power i need.

yep no more.... and tho it will still be awhile till the silver civic gets looken sick.... i was gonna suicide the doors and then paint it BUT i think im gonna paint the car first and then later on suicide the doors....

and well already 2nd day owning the truck ive already driven ruffly 150miles and 1/4tank of gas..... only got about 14.8MPG.... BUT then again i have been goosen the gas and also helping a friend move her stuff into a new apartment. freaken 3rd floor SUCKS!!! but anyways im sure the extra weight didnt help the milage either

so milage is DEFIANTLY NOT as nice as the civic... but then again makes moving crap alot easier.LOL
at least now i can chose my vehicle... either great MPG or HAULING SH**.LOL
