ok thanks trickyvick! I've put my car up on (borrowed) stands many times, just want to make sure that the ones I OWN are the right size. And I usually put the jack up on as much plywood as I can fit under there.

I exchanged the 13 1/2" stands for the 11"s.

It is always easier to make a short one taller (wood blocks) than to make a tall one shorter (hacksaw [sm=nothatway.gif])

Prolly a good idea. The ones you had JUST fit (with a tug on the fender) with the jack you had.

You can always extend them to be higher up right?

def a good idea that you got the smaller ones. and im not a fan of car ramps cause my cars lowered so the bumper doesnt clear the stands. plus i would be afraid of driving off the stands

And it's easier to undo! And fortunately I have a garage full of plywood.

Also, btw: ramps would make it hard to take the wheels off!

true....but 90% of the time when I am working under the car...the wheels are on...and I always feel more comfortable if they are making contact with the ground (or the ramps)

it reeally doesnt matter what size jackstands you have, as long as the jack can lift high enough
