this is a stupid question, but i really need to know, what does JDM stand for??? I have been thinking about this for 3 days now!!!

Basically what it means is that the Japanese keep all of the good stuff for themselves.


...and they dont' have to deal with pesky, Hp choking emmisions laws.

Yeah ive heard both stories, so I dont know what is true, but ive also heard of stock jdm gtr's, evo's etc been tested on the rollers and making quite a bit more bhp than the 280 its surposed to be. Anyways that still doesnt explain the nismo R34 z-tune putting out 500 bhp from stock, or the evo fq400 making 400bhp, but the latter being a UK designed car.

I actually think you're right. That's why GTR's are "rated" at 280 bhp, when they really make closer to 320.

It was a gentlemans agreement. I think it was stuck to for about 6 months... These things seem completely pointless and ridiculas. Like the german car manufacturers speed restriction (155mph). Road testers get audis up to 180... Just build the cars and make them good guys!
